Ross, within this work Browning's ". . .deepest insight into womanhood" is displayed. Edited by C. W. Hodell, who supplies an introduction and endnotes. This poem is volume III in Browning's Poems and Plays series. Entry 502 in EL Poetry and the Drama series, edited by Ernest Rhys. --- In 'Shield Era' curved back binding style 2, full olive ribbed cloth-covered boards with gilt-stamped Reginald Knowles-designed spine titling & decorations, blindstamped J.
