A deluxe Franklin Library first edition of a collection of poems by Robert Penn Warren. Illustrated with brown woodcuts by Leo and Diane Dillon, and with a special introductory note by the author. Issued as part of the publisher's First Edition Society series, published prior to the Random House trade edition. One of an unspecified number in this limited edition. --- Bound in full brown bonded leather covers with four raised bands on spine. Text presented in quality laid papers. Spine titling, elaborate decorations to covers and spine, and textblock edges all in bright gilt. Orange silk moire endpapers, with matching sewn-in satin ribbon placemarker. Volume lacks a dust jacket (as issued). --- A very nice copy, but with a bruise to upper front cover, some tiny dots of soiling to back cover, a scratch to textblock top edge gilding and a mild cover corner bump.; Tall Octavo - 9 to 10 in. tall; xi, 294 pages
