This entire volume tells the story of the Mary Stuart (Mary, Queen of Scots), Scottish queen who was considered complicit in varous crimes, including the murder of her husband, Lord Darnley. Forced to abdicate, she fled to England and sought the protection of her cousin, Queen Victoria. However, Victoria saw her as a threat and eventually had her executed in 1587. Includes five 'typogravoure' black & white illustrations, including a captioned, tissue-guarded frontis image. Translated from the French by I. G.
