Fought at Antietam Creek in Maryland on September 17, 1862, the battle is considered the most deadly event in American history. With a section of plates bearing black & white drawings and photos of people and scenes described in the book, as well as ten maps. --- In full light blue paper-covered boards backed in blue cloth with gilt-stamped spine titling. Volume wrapped in blue and blood red jacket. --- A Good-only copy with the beginnings of a split near front of book and front free endpaper has been clipped out. Unclipped jacket ($17.95) is well-preserved though with minor chafing to extremities, wrapped in removable archival mylar protector.
