Alain-Fournier's only novel was first published in France in 1913 shortly before his death in World War I. This translation, by Franois Delisle under the title "The Wanderer," first appeared in 1928. Semi-autobiographical in nature, it is concerned with the protagonist Augustin Meaulnes and his hasty attempts at finding love.
