With illustrations in color and at chapter heads in black & white by Ren Ben Sussan; and with an introduction by John T. Winterich. Sandglass leaflet laid in (NY, No. X: 15). --- In full light grey cloth-covered boards with maroon decorations on covers & spine, gilt title oval on spine and maroon topstain. Possibly published c.1940s-60s, though 1938 date appears in book. In maroon paper-covered slipcase. --- A well-preserved copy: bright, tightly-bound and unmarked, though with a little darkening to spine & a 5 cm strip of brown soiling to textblock fore-edge. Slipcase with light scuffing and a dampstain, otherwise structurally sound.
