Text unmarked . Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Slight shelf-wear and bumping to corners. Antique children's pamphlet from McLoughlin Bros. No date but Civil War-era c 1863-1870. 8 pages. Sewn, tied binding. Approx 7 3/4" X 4 3/4". Attractive woodblock style illustrations, four-color. Booklets shows a naval career from a dock worker to Midshipman to Post-Captain. Booklet is made of of two-sheets folded and sewn. Out sheet has split at seam leaving the pages loose. Light pencil inscription on cover looks like "Roarie H. Strickland" (or "Re.") from his teacher (nam illegible).
