100 pp.; stapled yellow wrappers; illustrations; printed broadside of 'Sacred Profane Love' by Charles Taylor, laid in. Includes poetry, prose, drawings and photography by citizens of Salt Lake City. "Published through Salt Lake's Artists-in-the City program and sponsored by the Salt Lake Council for the Arts. Funding for the anthology came from the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act and the Utah State Division of Fine Arts" [World Cat]. Covers soiled. Laid in, a 20" x 6" sheet with handwritten "Diary" entries on one side, poetry and notes, etc. on the other, in a heavy felt pen hand with decorations, folded into seven panels. Doesn't seem to be a piece associated with the anthology, but somewhat interesting in it's own right as an anonymous ephemeral piece, possibly a high school girl, given the contexts, with only first names mentioned. "Dear Diary, sorry i haven't written in you for awhile. But i've been pretty busy being rowdy and raising hell. I got caught sluffing Friday & so did Michelle but Julie & Cindy got off. Oh well. So all this week I gotta stay after school. Boo' 45 minutes. BLAH! . . ." and quite a bit more in this fragment of a young girls life. Art/LIfe; Life/Art, you choose. One other piece of similar writing, love poetry, on the back of a mimeographed sheet on making a collage, "Art Start Collage. A collage is a type of art in which pictures and materials are pasted to represent and idea or theme." It is also possible that the author of the fragments was one of the poets in the anthology.
