[Cat. 70. 13-0308-0309 mx] 8vo illus. -"For forty years, Clark Van Fleet has fished for steelhead in the major rivers of California and the Northwest. This is his story- alive with enthusiasm -where to go, how to fish, and where to stay." [DJ blurb]. The only book to describe the summer-run fish of the lower Eel River CA which populated Fernbridge to Weymouth section from June to the first Fall rains, and weighed 6-15 lb. This was a different group of fish from the summer runs around Covelo, which passed through the lower rive in early Spring. Much on early history of Eel, Klamath, Rogue, North Umpqua, Stillaguamish, and others. My college landlady at Humboldt State, Katie Rice, was a good friend of Clark Van Fleet, and wanted me to meet him, which I never did [to my lasting regret].Signed by Author in his left-hand backward script. Back cover of book dampmarked; rest of book inside and out Near Fine; in Price-clipped Very Good DJ .
