Beautiful, fanciful, charming -- the adjectives could be strung like pearls on a necklace to describe the works of the famous Russian artist, Erte, whose work graced the cover of Harper's Bazaar more than 200 times. Erte was a Russian artist whose early introduction to Persian art inspired him to pursue a career which included not only cover art, but costumes and stage designs of spectacular merit. This exhibit catalog is not seen often and is in clean, tightly bound condition. The art is all in color and celebrates the five year collaboration between Erte and Leon Leonidoff who from 1963-68 was director of Radio City Music Hall. The catalog marks the first time these works were ever viewed in exhibition. Included with the catalog is a price sheet still in its pocket at back. The catalog measures 8-3/4"x12" and has twenty pages.
