This is a decidedly fascinating little booklet which offers a tremendous amount of information, including drawings of equipment of the trade and the many styles available. The text covers the work of the wigmaker of course, but also the history of the trade, the Williamsburg wig shops, the colonial era clientele, the making of a wig, the prices, the role of barbers. Here's a fascinating fact -- in 1727 a French encyclopedia stated that there were 45 styles of wigs. In 1764 it had grown to 115. Booklet measures 6"x9-1/2" and has36 pages.
