I have to admit that I had not heard of Peter Newell, but the design and graphic on this attractive exhibition catalog called out to me(in an Irish brogue!). The catalog opens at the front to reveal more art which is explained in a cute, funny verse on the back cover. The catalog itself measures 5-1/2"x9" closed and has 26 pristine pages. It accompanied an exhibit at Yale's Sterling Memorial Library from February through May, 1989. Included are a brief essay about Newell followed by lists of his body of work including his books, books illustrated for others, illustrations done for magazine articles, cartoons in magazines, and miscellanea.
