Looks like Halloween judging by this 1940's era postcard featuring an Earl Carroll showgirl. I used to have an actual collection of this stuff (yeah, really) --programs, menus postcards etc.) from Carroll's days as a showman/producer/restauranteur who owned a rather racy L.A. nightspot (Earl Carroll's Vanities) on Sunset Blvd. known for its gorgeous performers. I knew a lot about him at the time, but all I remember now is that he died young (in his 50's) in a 1948 plane crash. The card has not been used and will arrive in a plastic sleeve. This one is may favorite due to its deeper color and most bizarre costume. I think it's got a Carmen Miranda vibe going on!
