St. Nicholas Magazine had been around for a long time before this issue came out. Children loved the content and why not when it could attract favorites such as Wanda Gag, who is best known for her book, Millions of Cats, which won both a Newbery Honor Medal and the Lewis Carroll Shelf Award. Here she has a story titled What Grew Out of A Silver Dollar accompanied by a crossword puxzle she also devised. The puzzle has not been filled in. The magazine contains fiction, nonfiction, poetry and greats ads for summer camps and both both and girls and measures 6"x9". It's clean and tightly bound save a light dampstain to front and back covers and on their reverse, but not affecting pages. It also shows a loss of color at lower right front corner.
