This booklet looks brand new, seemingly unread. It was originally published in 1954 by the Eastern National Park and Monument Association and before that in a French language edition in 1952. Some changes have been made here in hopes that the revised text would raise more questions. The title is somewhat vague, but refers to the Battle of Jumonville Glen, also known as the Jumonville Affair. It was the opening battle of the French and Indian War and was fought on May 28, 1754 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. A company of colonial militia from Virginia under the command of George Washington, and a small number of Mingo warriors led by Tanacharison (also known as "Half King"), ambushed 35 Canadians under the command of Joseph Coulon de Villiers de Jumonville. Booklet measures 6"x9" and has 39 pages.
