This Virginia College for girls began as a high school for girls. But in 1870 it became a junior college under the guidance of the Methodist church. It burned in December 1915 after which the church did not choose to rebuild. It's a long story but the school did reopen and remained so until 1976. What's interesting about this bulletin is the fact that it was published at the time the school reached its highest enrollment. But right after that it again dropped off. There are interesting pictures here -- math class and physics amidst the usual fare for women. Bulletin measures 5-3/4" x 9" and has 90 pages. Very clean and tightly bound with no spine crease and no names or writing
