Small hard cover vistors' guide which sports two large maps -- one in black and white of 1876 Philadelphia and the other a colorful panorama of the grounds of the exhibition. Both maps are good sized -- see photo of the fairgrounds map in full color below. What I love about this particular book is the inscription written by the owner who actually went to see the spectacle. In pencil she wrote, "Mother and Grace visited the exposition in July, 1876. Keep it 'til 1976!" There's also a small newspaper about the Smithsonian's effort to create a new centennial in 1976! The good news is nobody threw this book away. It measures 4-1/2" x 7" and has 48 pages illustrated with a few engravings. P.S. I made a few repairs to back of map with archival tape. Ypu can barely see it on the back and not at all on the front.
