I was taken immediately by the bold graphic cover, but I was also delighted with the equally bold black and white drawings inside, all of which are the artistic talent of Ben Shahn whom I discovered as a book illustrator.The booklet consists of the words of The Twelve Days of Christmas which reads as the illustrated poem it is. This booklet was published initially in 1949 and then was published in a revised edition in 1951. But on the last page of this particular one is the revised one, but is from a 1963 printing. Booklet measures 7-1/2" x 8-1/2" pages. There's a small bit of edge wear, a few little dark spots to edges and a small stain at plain orange back.
