Very attractive little booklet which measures 5-1/2" square and has 56 pages. The essay, "Here Is New York" is a classic written by E.B. White, the author of "Charlotte's Web." He wrote it during a humid summer in the city and it was quickly published in 1949, as a book and as an article in the April, 1949 issue of Holiday Magazine. The essay is beautifully illustrated with street scenes and printed with no skimping on ink. It would make a very nice little treasure in a Christmas stocking. I read it years ago and still remember the first line -- "On any person desiring such queer prizes, New York will bestow the gift of Loneliness and the gift of privacy."
