I had several Fireland magazines back in 2010, but haven't had any more until now. This is one of six that I just got -- it's very good for readers of Ohio history and genealogy. There are many addresses given to the annual meeting, the first of which is The Life of Our Pioneers by General Franklin Sawyer; Pioneer Life As It Was and As It Is by C.S. Stewart; Our Work In History by Rev. J. Nelson Lewis; The Pioneer Physician by Dr. John C. Sanders of Cleveland; and Some Compensations of the Pioneer Life by Rev. J.M. Seymour. Also included are early historical incidents. Then on to Pioneer History: Legendary Account of the First Camp Meeting in the Firelands;A Fitchville Centenarian, Collins A. Brown 100 Years Old August 19, 1885; Almost a Centrarian, Martin Kellogg of Bronson 99 years on Sept. 2, 1885 and the Army Record of Soldiers From Peru, Huron County. The biographies are the best part I think. Hre are the names mentioned: Ezra and Amy G. Smith, Mrs. Lucretia Waggoneer, Miner Hall and Isaac Underhill; Mrs. John R. Osborn; Hosea Townsend; Myron N. Morris;Ira Wood; Harriet A. Messenger; Hannah Russell and Mrs.Dr. A.D. Skellenger. Other surnames are: Hakes, Quincy Adams, Watros, Maynard, Mead, Green,Sammis, Mallory, Minges, Stewart,Beecher,Scott, Smith, Clark, Conger, Bott, Worthington, Powers, Prentiss, Brooks, Husted, Higgins, White, Latimer and Fancher. The magazine is clean and nice with no names or writing. The only fault is three small areas at spine which lost paper, I have repaired them with archival tape. The magazine measures measures 6-1/4" x 9-1/4" and has 127 pages.
