Rilke is one of my favorites, so I not only found a beautiful copy of this book which announced on the bottom of the title page that Rilke was the poet of the year. Rilke's Book of Hours falls into three parts: The Book of Monkish Life composed in 1899; The Book of Pilgrimage in 1901; and The Book of Poverty and Death in 1903. The poems are in both the GERMAN language on the left side of the page and English across from it. Here's a quick quote from one of my favorites, "You, neighbor God, if sometimes in the night I rouse you with loud knocking. I do so only because I seldom hear you breathe." The book measures 6" x 9" and has 47 pristine pages. (Gift Box 3)
