There is no date on this item, but I think it's probable that it was part of the wave of Japanese travel items after WWII. This is a giant map which measures 21" x 29" open and folds down to 3-3/4" x 10-1/2". The art inside is charming and offers much information about Kyoto and how to explore it. I did repair a few small tears along the map creases with archival tape which is practically unable to be seen. There is also a crease on one panel that I was able to flatten with an iron. The text is in ENGLISH. I just added this large booklet because they make a handsome pair. This one has large black and white photographs and was published by the city of Kyoto's government. 1962.
