Attached CD features soloist Umberto Clerici on violoncello in performance with Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento, conducted by Ola Rudner. CD contains Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations and the Shostakovich Concerto per Violoncello e Orchestra n. 1 Op. 107. Text is in Italian. Umberto Clerici has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls including Carnegie Hall in New York, Musik Verein in Vienna, the great Shostakovich Hall of St. Petersburg and Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. In 2003 he debuted at the Salzburg Festival and in 2012 he performed Tchaikovsky's Rococo variations with the Orchestra of the Teatro Regio in Turin conducted by Valery Gergiev. He has recorded the Saint-Sans cello Concerto for the RS (Real Sound) label and in 2006 he released a solo CD with the Amadeus label, the most important italian magazine for classical music, recording all the Tchaikovsky's compositions for cello and orchestra and Shostakovich Concerto No. 1. Umberto has received the prestigious 2003 Pentagramma doro of the Galileo 2000 Award (together with the famous violinist Uto Ughi and Nobel Peace Laureate Shimon Peres) in Florence, the Mozarteum Prize in Salzburg, the Pressenda Award 2005 for best young soloist of the year, and the Scanno Prize 2007.
