Oblong softcover art book, with no marks or writing in book. Corners have a very slight trace of wear. Otherwise like new. From the artist's website biography, "Roger Shimomuras paintings, prints, and theatre pieces address sociopolitical issues of ethnicity. He was born in Seattle, Washington and spent two early years of his childhood in Minidoka (Idaho), one of 10 concentration camps for Japanese Americans during WWII." The artist explains the works in the exhibition that this catalog accompanies thusly: "This series illustrates incidents of racial insensitivity I have experienced during my life. Accompanying each painting is a written description of the incident that inspired the piece. Also included in this series are events that have affected the Asian American community on a regional and national basis over the past 60 years - essentially my lifetime."
