Toning to spine panel of yellow jacket, moderate wear and soiling to DJ edges, minor wear to extremities of book, 5" diagonal cut from front endpaper (probably to remove a gift inscription.) Lowenthal was a lawyer, but also held numerous positions and appointments in the government during his career. This book was first published in 1933, about the time he was appointed to the U.S. Senate Banking and Currency Committee.
