Hardcover, tan cloth with black and yellow designed repeated on front and rear covers, yellow title box on spine, top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed, 7" tall, 309 pp. + colophon. A near fine copy, top rear corner lightly bumped, light rubbing to front cover, modest dulling to spine. An early production by Maxfield Parrish, and his first for Way and Williams. The covers are not designed so much as illustrated, and it clearly points to Parrish's future in illustration and painting rather than graphic design. Nevertheless, this poster-style design is an important high point in American publishers' bindings.
