Full grey cloth with gilt lettering & rules to front cover and spine, 7-3/4" x 5-1/4", top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed, 256 pp. + 16 pp. publisher's ads. Some discoloration to covers, toning to spine, main flaw is a narrow red stain to edge of spine. George Egerton was a primary author in the "New Woman" movement, especially concerning women's sexual expression. The first two of her books were republished fairly early in the Virago Modern Classics.
