Full green cloth boards with orange & blue lettering & decoration, under illustrated jacket priced at $1.50. Slight wear to book which is VG to Near Fine. Jacket has a 1.5" portion missing from bottom of spine panel, chipping to top of spine panel, wear to edges. All plates by Edward Dalton Stevens present. Uncommon jacket, almost certainly another Stevens work though not signed, and it is a different image than the plates. Leroy Scott was a socialist writer who helped Maxim Gorky visit the US, one of his novels was the first by Goldwyn Pictures to be filmed in New York. Mary Regan, the character, is "a member of the aristocracy of the underworld."
