Ex-Library copy (Detroit Public Library) with pocket at rear missing and leaving a blemish on the inside rear cover, call numbers on introduction page copyright page, faded gilt numbers on the spine and other small defacements. All pages are clean and crisp. No writing or smudges in text. This book was the state of the art in aircraft engine instruction in 1930. 16 chapters starting from the basics to instruments, lubrication, magnetos, carburetors and controls. Five different engines are covered in detail. 4 color fold-out inserts all intact. Insert #1 - Lubrication instructions for the Wright Whirlwind Engine, #2 is for the Curtiss Model D-12 on one side and the Packard Aircraft Model 2A-1500 as well as the 2A-2500 on the opposite side, #3 is for lubrication of the Curtiss Challenger model R-600, #4 is actually 3 charts showing Stromberg Single and Double Aircraft carburetors.
