Minor shelf/edge wear and spotting to sky blue cloth boards with gilt titles - corners lightly bumped. Minor shelf/edge wear, rubbing and two small dampstains to scarce clipped DJ - now in mylar. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. One of the first works dealing with the reforms of Marius and the continuing development of the legions until Augustus. Social, military and political concerns are also discussed. This is Number 9 of the Publications of The Faculty of Arts of the University of Manchester.
