Vintage Hardcover with Scarce DJ, 1943 Center Books/Sun Dial Press 280 pages. Very Good+, in a VG DJ. Just a hint of shelf/edge wear to aquamarine cloth boards with black titles and accents - corners sharp. Minor shelf/edge wear, dust soiling and a few tiny closed tears to original unclipped DJ - now in mylar. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean, unmarked and lightly toned (due to cheap wartime paper). Endpapers are clean and unmarked. This novel is #59 in the catalog of Center Books and is printed on the spine of the DJ. Erle Stanley Gardner (July 17, 1889 March 11, 1970) was an American lawyer and author. He is best known for the Perry Mason series of detective stories, but he wrote numerous other novels and shorter pieces. He was the best-selling American author of the 20th century at the time of his death. A very handsome and scarce wartime copy from this small reprint publisher in DJ. LOC
