Hardcover, with related ephemera, First Edition, Numbered copy (#2797) Signed by the Author on the dedication page, 1976 Burgtorf (Privately Printed) 297 pages plus an additional 65 photographs on 21 pages at the rear of the book. Near Fine, in a VG+ DJ. Just a whisper of shelf/edge wear to red cloth boards with black titles - corners sharp. Minor shelf/edge wear to unclipped DJ - now in mylar. Only flaw to the jacket is a small wrinkle at the top of the DJ spine. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. Photographic end papers. Author's Signature and Best Wishes on the dedication page. This is the story of a hand-bomber -- a hand-fired, coal-burning steam vessel, (a train ferry and ice-breaker as well) one of the last on the Great Lakes. Hundreds of vintage B&W photographs, a few maps, news articles and even bios of the crews. A treasure trove of lost history. Numbered copy - #2797. A superb signed First Edition in DJ. OCLC#2332521.
