Vintage Hardcover with DJ, Stated First Edition, 1969, Davidson Publishing, 281 pages. Very Good+, in a VG DJ. Just a touch of shelf/edge wear to blue cloth boards with gilt spine titles - corners sharp. Minor shelf/edge wear, one closed tear and rubbing to original unclipped DJ - now in mylar. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. Account of five determined men who found witnesses and tangible evidence on Saipan in the Mariana Islands that Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, were captured and executed by the Japanese before World War II. From the back cover: "A faint SOS was the last word form Amelia Earhart's ill-fated flight around the world in 1937. Thirty years later a group of determined men from several walks of life become dedicated to learning the truth about Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan, her navigator. They made two trips to Saipan, lived through two typhoons, accepted endless hardship as adventures and kept their 'never-say-die' attitude until they found witnesses and tangible evidence that Amelia and Fred were captured and executed by the Japanese prior to World War II." A very handsome First edition in DJ.LOC SSM-08
