THE ALCHEMIST was one of the finest fanzine published during the 1940's. This 70-page issue features Hannes Bok front and rear covers, albeit with a slight water stain. Also articles "THE PHILOSOPHICAL NOVELS OF OLAF STAPLEDON, by John B. Michel, "HAVE YOU READ THESE BOOKS" an article by Robert T. Lowndes, on the fictional books, The Necronomicon,;" Unaussprechlichen Kulten," and "Wells of Darkness," by Von Juntz; Tyr Jalnaak's, "Things of Eville,; Pere Ereville's, "Dissertation Upon that Which Stalks in the Night;" and, the "Night-Book, "of Jacques Mosquea. Additional articles by R.V. Hunt, Widner, Dougherty, and others, and poetry by Ackerman, Harry Warner, Jr., and Art Widner. A few pages with moisture stains but does not affect readability. a Good + issue, in stiff paper covers. Scarce.
