THE GORGON was one of the most successful fanzines of the 1940's with an advertised circulation of 500, which swelled to 600, which was astounding, pun intended, and at $1.00 for a seven issue subscription was pretty good money for the time. The heavy paper covers raised GORGON far above most other fanzines in terms of quality, and although this issue is mimeographed the reproduction is quite readable. This issue features a very informative 5-page article on Clark Ashton Smith, as author, painter, and sculptor, which has never been reprinted. A very good copy.
