Half bound in fine brown calf over red boards, spine in six compartments separated by raised bands, gilt lettering in one compartment, gilt tooling in remainder, blind-stamped borders on covers, blue endpapers. Profusely illustrated with engraved drawings, many full-page. "Punch, or the London Charivari was a British weekly magazine of humour & satire established in 1841 by Henry Mayhew & engraver Ebenezer Landells. It became a British institution." . Binding is tight and square, edges lightly shelf-worn, cloth on both front and rear covers mildly wrinkled, hinges strong, head of spine very lightly worn. Text block unmarked, clean, and tight.
