Illustrated with Color frontispiece portrait and B&W drawings. Edited by Svend Larsen, Director of Hans Andersen Museum, Odense, Denmark. Translated from the original Danish text by R. P. Keigwin. The illustrations are by Vilhelm Pedersen, reproduced from the original drawings in the Andersen Museum at Odense. This edition is being issued from Odense, the poet's native town, by the publishing firm of Flensted. The portrait of Andersen opposite the title page is reproduced from Carl Bloch's famous painting (1869). Introduction by Elias Bredsdorff (Lecturer in Danish at Cambridge University). .
