Limited edition (No. 234 of only 1500 copies). Signed by the Illustrator and the Printer on the Limitation Page. Quarter bound in wine-colored Italian linen stamped in gold and boards covered in a decorative wood-blocked paper hand-made by Antonio Gabrielli of Montecatini. Illustrated with a dozen full-color paintings and a medallion portrait of each of the twelve Caesars by Salvatore Fiume. Translated by Philemon Holland (1552-1637), and edited by Moses Hadas (1900-1966), who has also written the Introduction. Planned at the Officina Bodoni and printed in Verona at the Stamperia Valdonega by Giovanni Mardersteig. Printed on mould-made paper by Cartiere di Maslianico near Lake Como. Leaflet and Monthly Letter of the Limited Editions Club (August 1963, Number 354) laid in. . The hinges are just starting but are holding and strong, the spine is very slightly rolled, otherwise the volume is in excellent condition, unmarked, tight, square, and clean. The white dust jacket is very lightly sunned along the spine, and very lightly chipped along the top edge only. The gold-trimmed, wine-colored slipcase with its paper label is soiled with an old damp-stain on its rear panel only, but is strong and otherwise fine.
