1912-1959 OFFPRINTS MOSTLY ON BIRDS OF THE AMERICAS AND ASIA BY NOTED ORNITHOLOGIST. 62 offprints from various journals, including 32 reports on the Americas, 14 from Asia, 1 from Africa, as well as Bird banding as an aid to the study of migration (The Auk, 1923) and obituaries on Robert Ridgway (The Auk, 1933), and Henry Philemon Attwater (The Auk, 1932). Condition: paper age-toned, some with previous owner signatures or handstamps, overall very good. HARRY CHURCH OBERHOLSER (1870-1963) attended Columbia University, and was awarded degrees from the George Washington University in1914 AND received his Ph.D. in 1916. From 1895 to 1941, he was employed by the United States Bureau of Biological Survey (later the United States Fish and Wildlife Service) as an ornithologist, biologist, and editor. In 1941 he became curator of ornithology at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
