In green cloth with elaborate blind-stamped border design on both boards with title on cover in gilt, 24mo, unpag. Contains 18 duotone photogrpahic images in french/accordian fold format, followed by 4 pages of text touting Seattle's thriving early days. An extremely scarce souvenir book produced by publisher Leopold Samuel of Portland, best known for his publication "West Shore" - a quality publication promoting a positive image of the Pacific Northwest. Illustrations show many early images of Seattle at the beginning of it's history including Seattle From the Harbor; A Front Street Business Block; Fry's Opera House; SEATTLE From Capitol Hill (2 page); the Olympic Range From Seattle harbor (2-page); as well as images of several prominent houses including the Yessler; Phinney and Densmore mansions among others. A wonderful and very early publication showcasing the early begninnings of Seattle. (minimal light wear to extremities, first illustration fold with short tape repair at inner hinge).
