Libretto/script for Narrators, various featured roles, and large chorus. Includes one loose copy of the song 'Song of Colorado' (that is also printed on the back pages of the book) for Voices and Piano. Lilian White Spencer (1876-1953) was a Colorado poet and collaborated with several composers on a variety of large-scale works. The Pageant of Colorado was presented in Denver in May 1927 with a cast of 1500, and was said to have been the largest indoor spectacle ever produced in the West. It was part of a celebration honoring the opening of the Moffat Tunnel. The work is in five highly-stylized, elaborate, and stilted scenes (see photo for list of sections). Except for the song, none of Cadman's music is included.
