This is a collection of 60 illustrations of young German soldiers double sided on heavy stock in a cloth portfolio with a introductory book in German. The blue cloth boards with paste-down are discolored with age and rubbed at the edges, the illustration is foxed, lower edge has red stains, spine is worn. Book is foxed and edges are worn on first few pages, prints have light foxing. Christian Wilhelm Allers (6 August 1857 19 October 1915) was a German painter and printmaker. This portfolio was completed in 1902 and was his last work. He escaped a a homosexual scandal in Capri and traveled for the remaining 10 years of his life.
