Very uncommon piece of ephemera in excellent condition. Covers and pages of this oversized piece are clean as a whistle inside and out. Glasscine overwrap has a diagonal crease to bottom front corner, a thin line of browning from top to bottom at front and at rear a few tiny edgetears. Beautfully illustrated with color renderings of rooms -- also includes a color chart with 18 hues and suggestions for their use. This is an important piece, as Alexander Smith & Sons by 1929 was the largest carpet company in the world, famous for its innovative techniques that made carpeting affordable to the middle class. The company began in 1845 in West Farms, New York and merged with Mohawk in 1956. An interesting sidebar is the fact that Alexander Smith himself was elected to Congress in 1878, but died the evening of his election day. Piece is unpaginated, but we counted 10 large pages.
