The book is clean and tightly bound with just a few flaws -- two small wrinkles to the bottom edge of the front cover, a tiny crease to lower front corner, a chip at the bottom front corner of the paste-on art and browning to gutters at endpapers. Pages are pristine. Book is SIGNED thus on front pastedown, "To Dr. William E. Smith with best wishes of Ellsworth & Emery Kolb, January 22, 1940 Grand Canyon, Arizona. I believe the signature is that of Emery Kolb, the photographer, as a gift inscription to Dr. Smith on the front free endpaper indicated that the book was purchased from Emery while the buyer was visting the Grand Canyon rom Cleveland, Ohio.
