Very nice, clean, tighly bound program issued for the commissioing of the U.S.S. Robert E. Peary at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, Washington September 23, 1972. Measures 8" tall by 10-1/2" long and has 40 pages. Aside from toning to edges of cream card cover at front and overall at back, is very clean and tightly bound with pristine pages. Attractive red, white and blue cover design and numerous photos of the ship and crew inside, as well, as pictures of Rear Admiral and adventurer Robert E. Peary for whom it was named. Much history about Peary, as well as stats and info on the ship which was decommissioned on August 7, 1992, struck from the navy list on November 11,1995 and transferred to the Republic of China.
