Mint condition save a light haze of foxing to back of white dustjacket. Book itself is pristine with no names or writiing and no bumps to green boards. Page, and page edges pristine. No tears or chips and dustjacket protected by mylar. SIGNED by the author thus, "Best Wishes, Carroll V. Lonergan." This book was written when the author was just 22 years old, years before his 1959 book Ticoderoga Historic Portage. This one was released for publication here in 1987 when he received a letter from a former student who fondly remembered him reading it in manuscript form to her eighth grade class. The Fort was clearly Lonergan's passion and here he shares it with kids in a story of the Burgoyne invasion, Fort Crown Point, Fort Ticonderoga, Skenesburough, Port Anne, Old Saratoga, and the Iroquois and Algonquin Indians. Though written for older kids, it appeals to anyone with an interest in the French and Indian War. Photos at back of book and nice green map endpapers. 192 pages. [ CHILDREN ]
