Beautiful and scarce. One of only 250 special edition copies of the first edition of Richter's initial volume in the Awakening Land Trilogy. Navy blue spine compliments salmon-colored boards and white paper spine label. Label shows a few spots of light browning, but is otherwise crisp and clean. Missing cello wrapper, but still in sturdy slipcase which shows overall soil and chipping along two edges. Special designation page bound in indicates that book is "#50 of a Special Edition of 250 copies of The Trees made by Alfred A. Knopf for his Friends and goes with his Best Wishes", though no name was ever inscribed. slipcase still sodid but edges are worn [ spec ed room ]
