The book weaves both the biograpihes of Oskar and Alma, his art, and her music. Kokoschka loved her all of his life. She, on the other hand, was married to composer Gustav Mahler, architect Walter Gropius, and novelist Franz Werfel, as well as ofseveral other prominent men, notably painter Oskar Kokoschka.
