The book itself is wonderful with pictorial boards which match the exact painting on the dustjacket. The jacket shows a few tiny tears, one to lower front edge and another at upper back where there is also a chip and a loss of paper along the spine (see photo. ) There is no priceclip and all pages are clean and without dog-ears. There also also no names or writing and dthe ustjacket is very handsome in a brand new mylar cover. The art of Wesley Dennis is charming throughout this novel about harnes racing and a boy and his father's shared love of the horses. Book measures 7" x 10" and has 219 pages, plus back matter.
