This is not just a book about Harvey Dinnerstein and his artistic work, it's also Harvey Dinnerstein sharing his techniques with would-be artists. He discusses drawings, oil painting, the studio, evolving pictorial ideas, the work in progress, and more. The best of all though is the "Work In Prrogress" for which he paints a simple image and changes it by aplying a new process to the work. And then there's another change and another one until all become steps to get to the last and most beautiful picture. The book has been nicely cared for -- I bought it from the estate of a local artist who had it for almost 30 years. The only defect I see is a few light flat creases to the upper front corner of the dustjacket, but it hardly shows in the new-ooking mylar cover it came in. The book is clean with no names or writing, no price-clip, and no bumps to pristine cloth binding. Book measures 9" x 12" with 144 pages including 80 pages of color and 58 black and white.
